Siypnow presents making one kid smile one day at a time is a new model building an environment that allows people to share their passion without the worries of being judged for who they are and what they love, is a core component of being a gamer. With all the positive things video games can bring, it is a great tool to tap into the youth to motivate and encourage to better oneself. By using the power of a controller, we are bringing people together with one game at a time. The result of this experience is the recognition of our common stories. This project will create bridges between populations, which typically experience conflict with one another. The current focus of Making one kid smile one day at a time project is bringing Taunton Police officers, State Troopers and young community members together in a day workshop. Each participating young person is paired with a police officer for the day.
Each Siypnow workshop begins with an informal introduction from the kids and the officer talking with each other, getting to know each other. Then Kids Officers will branch off to go do gaming activities with the kids, youth.
Following a shared lunch, the pairs of young people and police officers are brought to a photo studio in the same location to have their portraits taken. Portraits are for pairs or individuals.
The art-work created through Siypnow workshop will become the components to an installation piece, which will be displayed publicly at different locations across Taunton and at Platinum City Gaming .
